Tomorrow, a handful of Gator CrossFit athletes will take on the rigors of another Gator CrossFit under Fire workout starting at 9:00am.  There will be a group workout at 9:30am followed by Open Gym until noon.  Come on over and cheer your fellow athletes on after your workout and see for yourself what all the commotion is all about.  To see what one of these past workouts are a, watch all of the videos here.

If you have spent any considerable amount of time in a gym setting, you have come to see many people giving it a great effort over a long haul only to look the same and feel the same.  This can be demoralizing to soul.  One of the main reasons why people fail to attain their fitness goals is the fact that they don’t have the right program that will ensure their success beyond what they are doing in the gym.

Gator CrossFit under Fire brings Self Protection to another level

I heard a story the other day that there was a local home invasion towards the beginning of this year. Read that article here.  Upon entering the house, the perp had a rude greeting… that is the home owner pointing a gun directly in the head of the invader.  What would have happened if it was the other way around?  Not a good situation.

Day in and day out, we hear on the local news of some home invasion, something stupid that gets our attention.  It gets our attention because it sounds so close to home.  As if something like that could happen to me, but would if you were in the story from above?  What will happen if that day comes where somebody pulls a firearm on you?  Being prepared to fight the fight and come out on top is essential to survival. Learning Self Protection with firearms training and fitness is key!

Gator CrossFit provides the local and surrounding community a One of a Kind workout that combines high intense CrossFit programming, the best in Gainesville, along with Gainesville Target Range, to better prepare it’s citizens of Alachua County and beyond those very tools for survival.

Now that's a lady not to be messed with...

We had another successful Gator CrossFit under Fire workout this past Saturday.  A group of your fellow Gator CrossFit athletes battled the elements on their way towards hitting the bulls-eye.  I must tell you, this workout was tough tough tough.  Having the instructor coaching on pulling the trigger ever so slowly was not the easiest thing to accomplish.  With arms fatigued, heart rate flying and the clock running, finding that sight line and controlling the breath so you can hit your target is an accomplishment to say the least.

Gator CrossFit under Fire is truly real life training.  As are all of our programs at Gator CrossFit, we prepare each person for REAL LIFE situations…

Today’s WOD:

Back Squats 3 x 5 (add 5 lbs from last workout)

Shoulder Press 3 x 5 (add 5 lbs from last workout)

Then:

Complete AMRAP in 12 minutes of

5 Supine ring pullups

7 Depth pushups (use plates for increased ROM)

It’s that time of the month again, no, not that friendly (or not so friendly reminder) that we are all so accustomed to.  Gator CrossFit under Fire revs back up with another action packed workout combining our CrossFit workout with shooting firearms at Gainesville Target Range.  This will start approximately at 9:00am.  If you are interested in seeing your fellow Gator CrossFit athletes in action, come by the target range between 9-12.

As for tomorrow’s schedule, there will be no yoga.  The group class will be from 10-11am and Open gym will be from 11-12pm.  Hope to see you in the gym.

How was your weekend? Were you able to rest and recover from a tough week at Gator CrossFit last week? With Mandi’s yoga class, mobility exercises learned from class and foam rollers allow you to work out some soreness and tight areas.  It’s important to incorporate these particulars into your routine.  As you continue to push towards increasing your strength and overall fitness levels, make note of what your body needs, speak with your trainers to get some advice on what to focus on and take the time actually do those necessary things… you will be on your way towards a healthy, fit and stronger person.  Train hard, train smart!
