Congratulations to our February Athlete of the Month

Congratulations Greg for being nominated for February Athlete of the Month.  This is a very well deserved award.  Greg has been with us since the beginning of last year.  As a man in his upper 50′s, Greg dove head first into our fitness program by way of the Gainesville Target Range.  Like most of us, there are times in the beginning where things seem tough going.  It was hard learning the complexity of the movements.  Getting through a workout without scaling was the norm.  Well, times have changed for Greg.  While he still scales from time to time, it’s not for a lack of ability.  He has taken to the nutrition and has made tremendous differences in his physical body.  With a deadlift approaching 30olbs, it’s great to see all the hard work paying off.  Keep up the great work Greg, continue being an inspiration for all.

Many of you have come from the same beginnings, share your story of when you first started…

Tons of new PR’s established on Saturday and $1,200 plus raised for Charity!

Oh my, what a great time we had this past Saturday during the very first Gator CrossFit Games.  It’s amazing what a little competition and energy does for an individual.  The event started off with a Mile run, and by the times that were put up on the board, EVERYONE established a new Personal Record.  WOW!  In fact, all throughout the day, there were new PR’s left and right.  From climbing new heights on the rope climb, jumping higher than ever on the Max height Box jump and lifting more weight overhead than ever before during the Max Ground to Overhead in 10 minutes, it was awesome to see.

This just shows you the power of working with people that are striving to give their very best, each and every time.  I think that everyone that attended now truly understand what it means to train hard with focus and determination.  I’m sure they will lead the way for others as we continue on with improving our health and fitness through any means necessary.

Best of all during the day, we raised over $1,200 for the R.O.C.K Camp, which is Reaching out to Cancer Kids.  Thanks to everyone that donated, participated and took part in helping make this a great event.  Also, a big thanks to all the Community Sponsors that contributed to our Silent Auction and prizes for the day.  Below is a list of the winners of each category:

Overall Winner: Tanner Lee

Beginner winner: Greg Mullaley
