By now you may have heard all about CrossFit. How these workouts are high-intensity training sessions that push you to excel, get strong and allow you to reach past your goals. These workouts are generally circuit based with heavy strength lifting days mixed in. The objective of these exercises are to elicit more power, speed, strength, coordination and much more. An example of a workout can be how fast you can complete 5 rounds of 10 overhead squats with a 400m run. The workouts are always changing, no routine. This keeps your body guessing, never knowing what to expect. A few of the movements that we do are:
* Squats
* Shoulder push
* Deadlift (moving furniture, boxes?)
* Climbing
* Jumping
* Cleaning and pressing (picking things up and moving them)
* Running
* Rowing (pulling motions)
* Lunging
Some benefits that you will see by training the CrossFit way:
* Increase lean muscle mass
* Decrease fat
* Speeding up of metabolism
* Increase power output
* Increase speed and agility
* Improvement in coordination
* Improvement in speed
* Better balance
* Accuracy improvement
* Greatly improve athletic performance
* Increase cardiovascular system
* Decrease stress
* Significantly improve YOUR quality of life by having the strength to perform all daily functions required for optimal health
* This is a big one, significant improvement of functional flexibility!
* Most of the classes are circuit training, 20 minutes or less of a workout geared towards increasing that heart rate and challenging you to dig deeper and get stronger. Some days will be a heavy lift day designed for strength and power.
All participants will go through a fitness evaluation prior to starting an exercise program with Gator CrossFit. Everyone will be required to attend a Gator CrossFit orientation where you will learn all movements required and will be taught with as perfect form as possible.
These movements and workouts can and will be scaled up or down to challenge each individual at their level. The 70 year old client, the 14 year old baseball player, the 45 year old school teacher... you will be doing the same movements, just different weights and most likely intensity can be scaled as well!
